Playing cornhole is one of the best, if not the best, game to play in the yard or while tailgating at your favorite sports game. However, why not take your average backyard bags to the next level? Here are 10 cornhole trick shots that will indeed impress your friends and family, and may even win you the title of the “ultimate cornholer.”

TOP 10 CORNHOLE TRICK SHOTS

Eyes closed

Setup: You will need one board and it should be 27’ away from you. Of course, you can change how far away you would like to be based on your skill.

Play: Close your eyes and throw that cornhole bag as forcefully as possible. I suggest throwing one, opening your eyes, assessing how you did, and changing your technique for your next throw.

Vertical Cornhole

Setup: To set up this bean bag toss trick shot, you will need to find something sturdy to set up your board on. You will want this board to be vertical, so you can directly through your cornhole bags directly through the cornhole board.

Play: To succeed at this trick shot challenge, you will need to throw your bean bag perfectly, so you may need a few practice shots. Once you get the hang of the vertical cornhole challenge, try the double board challenge!

Double Board

Setup: For this challenge, you will need something to stand your cornhole board up, just like you did in the vertical cornhole challenge. You will want to put your other cornhole board about three to five feet behind your latest cornhole contraption, and then you are ready to test this trick shot.

Play: To succeed at the double board trick shot, you will need to make it through both cornhole board holes. The first being the vertical cornhole board, and finally the regularly placed cornhole board! Good luck.

Racing bags

Setup: You will need two cornhole bags and one cornhole board for this challenge. You should start at the regulation 27’ for recreational cornhole, but you can move closer as needed.

Play: For this challenge, you will throw two bags simultaneously to attempt to land both in the hole. We suggest throwing one higher than the other, so they do not get jammed in the hole.

Granny

Setup: This will be a normal cornhole setup, with the cornhole board 27” away from you.

Play: For this challenge, you will be throwing with two hands! It may appear simple, but in reality, it is pretty difficult to make it in the hole!

Bouncing bags

Setup: Find an item in your house, like a wooden box, file cabinet, or something solid you have sitting around, and put it out in your yard. Place your corn hole board about 3’ away from this item.

Play: The bouncing bags challenge will require you to bounce your bean bag off the item you have found in your home, and into the cornhole board hole! Good luck, this is a tough one.

Juggle throw

Setup: You will need another person, two cornhole boards and 8 bean bags. For this challenge, you will need to set up the two boards 27’ apart.

Play: Each person will take turns juggling until they feel ready to throw, they will stop juggling and throw. The other person will then do the same. Each player will do this until each player runs out of backs. So you will start by juggling 4 bags, then 3, then 2, and then throw the last bag like a normal game of cornhole.

Backward bags

Setup: Set up one of your backyard boards to the recreational 27’, like you have been doing for the other challenges. You might want a few bags for this trick shot.

Play: Now that you’re standing 27’ from your cornhole board, turn around so your back is facing your board, we know…unnerving. Once you are in position, launch that bean bag!

Dizzy throw

Setup: Set up one of your backyard boards to the recreational 27’, like you have been doing for the other challenges.

Play: Start by holding your bean bag and turning in a circle 3 times, and on your third time around throw your bean bag and hope for the best!

Through the roof

Setup: This setup requires a two-story house with a balcony, so if you don’t have one, I’m sure you can come up with an even crazier way to do this trick shot. Take your cornhole board up the stairs and place on it your balcony so it is in sight, and head back down the stairs to where the board is visible from outside.

Play: For this trick shot, you will need to launch your bean bag towards your board to airmail your shot! Please don’t break any windows or put any bean bags through the roof!
